I appologize for all the questions, I'm trying to ask all of them I can think of at once instead of openining more uneeded form pages. This manual covers all models of the ASTRO® Digital Spectra® and ASTRO Digital Spectra Plus mobile radios (models W3, I haven't had a chance to power it up due to the power connection issue ( I thought that I was buying a lower power and SUPRISE a high power shows up) I know that they use different power cables and transceiver mounts. ![]() Do HP and LP Astro Spectra's use the same remote control cable? I currently have a HKN4356B ran. Can anyone tell if this radio is Narrow Band Capable? I think it is beause "2.5kHz" is on the sticker. If there is no "legit" way to change it using CPS is there a way to hack the software to allow it to be done? Also is there a way to get the radio to turn down below 61 Watts? For example if I wanted to be able to talk on Marine Band VHF, the max allowed power for a mobile marine band VHF is 25 Watts, 61 Watts is just slightly above that. Does anyone know this to be true or (hopefully) false as I would prefer to use a W9 control head due to the number of characters that can be displayed, and because I already have one (Systems 9000 HCN1033C). My question after giving all that information is what CPS Software must I use to program the radio? Also the tech manual leads me to beleive that I MUST use a W4 control head with the radio ("The “A7” refers to the control head model number".
